And what an awesome way to finish the series, with 4 ladies rounding out the top 6 (Tash Walsch and MSMFIA just off making the top 5) - 2 of those lovely ladies being Girlspeeders! It all really came together for Erin at Jamboree, smoking the competition after a long and well performed campaign in 2009 - great result Erin and Gav!Hot on her tail, Toni as usual was absolutely fautless in her execution - her only downfall being missing the South Island event. And a huge result for Christy, attending only 2 of the 3 events and still showing to such a high standard that she walked away with a podium finish.

27th November 2008 - 4 & Rotary Nationals registrations and new website open!

That's right, the new 4 & Rotary site is alive and kicking and to celebrate, they are giving away tickets for you and a mate to go to any event of your choice simply by registering to their forums! That's right, it's THAT easy. Check out www.4androtary.co.nz to be in to win! Not only that but you can now register online to compete at the events too! With the 4 & Rotary Series now confirmed as the ONLY import drag and show event of it's kind for 2009, the Auckland event is definitely going to be a must-see. Mad mini-truckers, ripping RC car action, monster-truck mayhem, fantastic entertainment (including some giveaways and competitions to make last years look meek!), roaring pro-import action from our own local shores as well as our Australian cousins - tell me, where will YOU be on the 24th & 25th of January?

21st November 2008 - Congrats Bonita, C7 champion!!

A huge congratulations to Bonita Muntz, doing us all proud in her Nissan Silvia S15 tonight and taking out the C7 female only class at the 2nd Night Speed Drag Wars event. Bonita was sharp and consistant all night, dialling in close times and sticking to her guns - even when she drew the short straw to line up again Gina in her fearsome T1M1D toyota! Tonight's win puts Bonita on 50 points for the series, 10 points behind the leader with one event to go - real nailbiting material. So come down to the Fram Autolight Dragway on Friday the 12th of December to check out the talent that the strip has to offer and to show support to our golden girl!

8th October 2008 - Welcoming in the sunshine!

October - the 10 month of the year, the excitement of the summer nearly upon us.. and most importantly - Breast Cancer Awareness month. And what better way to support such a great cause than with a cruise! [MZNSMO] has done a great job organising the "Pink Heels Cruise 08", with all proceeds going to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. The cruise will assemble at 11am on Saturday the 18th of October, in the main car park at North Harbour Stadium in Albany, Auckland. It's gold coin donation to enter the cruise and all girls must have pink shoes on (guys feel free to wear something pink too). There will be spot prizes as well as a prize for best dressed and lots of great breast cancer foundation merchandise available on the day for purchase. 3rd June 2008 - Another Megameet home and hosed!

And what a weekend it was too! Members from as far north as Massey and as far south as Oxford travelled to the windy capital last weekend for the annual Girlspeed Megameet - it was huge! Thanks to all the girls that made an appearance, it's always great to meet new faces and make new friends. Many congrats to the award winners also, with TXP (Team Extreme Posers) taking home the coveted "Best Megameet Team" trophy (huge props to Paul and Lisa for the awesome handiwork). We also had Erin take out "Hottest Car", Jodi win "Best Attitude" and Ann with "Outstanding Member".

Not to fear if you missed this year's MM however - only 360 more days til Girlspeed rock the house in Chur-chur for MM09. Stay tuned!

22nd May 2008 - Megameet 2008 - Wellington

This year's host city is the windy Wellington and come Queen's Birthday weekend, there will be a Girlspeed invasion of epic proportions. 2008 is shaping up to be a great event, so if you're a new member or looking to become a Girlspeeder and you are in the Lower North Island, hit up the forums and see where you can catch up with the girls. The weekend starts on Friday the 31st and goes all the way through til Monday the 2nd of June. See you there!

20th May 2008 - www.girlspeed.co.nz - back online!

After much talk, humming an haaing, the website is back online and functional. Thanks for your patience while this has been in the build and feel free to plod around the new site and visit the newly revised pages. Still more content to go up, but we're well on the way to keeping you all updated with this much nicer (and modern) medium.
